  • The whole purpose of the toss is to add fairness, and it works _perfectly_ for the one match. But it doesn't work so well for a series, where one team could end up winning every toss (and on some cricket pitches these days you've almost guaranteed yourself a win just by winning the toss).

    I prefer an alternating system. For the 1st match of the series flip a coin - whoever wins gets to choose who bats first. But then it should alternate - for the second match the other captain chooses, and so on
