@DataPAFilter The otters that I've seen and filmed in freshwaters have almost totally ignored fish (apart from small stone loaches and the like) and have been feeding on crayfish a lot which, as these are probably the introduced signal crayfish pest, must be a good thing for fish eggs and so fish stocks.
Shame is that the pathetic angling community feel that otters may impact on their pastime and so should be culled! So typical of the angling community bang on about conservation but only if it means their increasing their 'fun prey' at the cost of any other nature- trees on the river band, otters, cormorants, swans killed by discarded tackle and huge amount of fishing litter at rivers. I live there and i saw one today! Couldnt figure out why everyone was taking photos till i asked somebody.
