  • Side effects of this drug may contiune or pop-up even after you've stopped taking the drug for years, that's the worst part of it.

  • Please explain just one side effect that can continue or pop-up even after you've stopped taking ciprofloxacin for over one year.

  • I tried some of this shit for a simple sinus infection and lucky for me, I stopped after only 4 tablets. I've seen so many horror stories of life altering injuries associated with this drug, that I can't imagine how my life as a weight lifter would be completely ruined if I had continued this drug.

DO NOT USE FLUOROQUINOLONES EVER! If you want to avoid becoming a cripple.

  • So another words ciprofloxacin Is the same damn thing as tetracycline under another name which causes swelling of the brain and a neurological toxin and when It gets old will cause Kidney damage.

  • I took levaquin which is in the same family of quinolones and have had felt horrible ever since... it has been a month and it is getting worse, started out with extreme fatigue and flu-like symptoms, feeling out of body, depersonalization intensified and inability to focus... now i am starting leg cramping, it is hard to sit or walk.... i don't think i am up for this sort of life of pain, my legs feel like they were kicked by a horse. LEVAQUIN IS POISON.

  • I am a young victim and had my health ruined. It took 2.5 years to come back from 5 pills! Even now I have some unrelenting side effects. Bottom line is the public needs to be properly informed by Doctors of potential side effects and CLOSELY monitored while Rx-ing. These drugs are often Rxed for simple suspicions of UTI's. There are 5 classes of antibiotics just 1 being a quinolone. Rx-ing a quinolone on a guess is CRIMINAL! Its like killing an ant with a 747! This stuff has killed KIDS@!

  • THIS STUFF IS POISON! Don't believe me read the official side effects at the company website! "Permanent nuerological damage" is just one. There are 5 classes of antibiotics.Quinolones are just one. Rx-ing quinolones for a best guess diagnosis is like killing an ant with a 747. Do yourself a favor and only take a quinolone as a last resort. Utilize the other 4 classes first. This stuff has killed kids. Do your research, one pill has caused people to experience years of hell on earth.

  • watch out for psuedomembranous colitis I think the OP was refering too

  • These are NOT mere side-effects, they are a direct result of the TOXICITY of these drugs. I had previously been blessed w/ excellent health, always worked out, followed a healthy diet etc..today I am suffering severe tendinitis, Premature Ventricular Contractions (heart-palps), electrical-like "vibrations" throughout my body, swelling of my fingers/toes, tinnitus, skin reactions, and the latest being a kidney cyst. All from 20 pills of fluoroquinolones taken in 2003 for a sinus infection.

  • yes, I took Cipro 500mg in 2005. Almost 3 years later I had a stomach upset.
