A Parallel between Deafhood and Nationhood (revised)

Barb DiGi describes the comparisons between Nationhood and Deafhood. The term, deafhood, was coined by Dr. Paddy Ladd and promoted by the deaf trio, David Eberwein, Ella Mae Lentz and Genine Gertz at the NAD convention and elsewhere in the nation.

Please note that nationalism has been changed to nationhood since it sounds more neutral and to make it more focused on the process that parallels to deafhood.

Your analogy of Deafhood with nationalism is not apt. Although there are some parallels between the two, there are something in nationalism which Deafhood does not aspire to. In fact 'nationalism' have been equaled with racism, sexism, antisemitism, etc. Audism can be seen as a nationalism/racism that overvalues hearing and speech to the detriment of deaf and hard-of-hearing people. That is why the present Germany disavowed nationalism and banned it from school curriculum for world citizenship.

@Hartmut1940 Yes, that was the feedback I had received a year ago or so when I first posted this vlog so I learned and changed it to Nationhood that was why it was revised in the title. This kind of discussion took place in my blog so your discussion is valid as well. Thanks for the clarification.

I got "Deafhood" word is big probelm I saw about 10 months ago other video was his misunderstand word! Deafhood is NOT unity!! Deafhood is Deaf rules and their authorzied is Deaf! -hood is rules (or obey) and authorzied.

p.s. Rescue911Trooper, I use a "Microsoft 3000vx life cam" webcam. It's OK. I've been told that "Microsoft LifeCam 6000nx" webcams are better.

I may be wrong, but it seems to me that Barb uses a camcorder and transfers it through a video card?? I have used this method myself. Works decent.
