Video by http://www.laptopscreen.com on how to properly replace an LCD screen in a laptop (based on HP DV6000).
This Laptop Screen replacement / repair / installation guide is based on Hewlett Packard Pavilion DV 6000. It will also work for similar
DV 2000, DV 9000 and all sub models. Display replacement is easy on all laptops; HP, DELL, ACER, ASUS, APPLE, SAMSUNG, TOSHIBA, COMPAQ and other
notebooks all share similar LCD panels, with LED or CCFL backlight, which need to come out of the bezel to be replaced with a new screen.
Make sure to disconnect the power and remove the battery, laptop's inverter has high voltage, don't get shocked.

hey im taking my screen from one hp dv6000 to another hp dv6000 but after i opened them up i saw one screen was samsung and the other is LG are they going to work?
ENASTY7ALLDAY 11 months ago
@ENASTY7ALLDAY Yes it is very common for the same model of a laptop to house multiple different panels from different manufacturers. These panels should be perfectly interchangeable, as they are built using the same universal standards. One point to note is the difference in resolutions: if these screens are not the same resolution, there's a slight chance that a higher resolution panel will not work in laptop with a lower resolution installed originally. But not vice-versa.

@laptopscreencom hey thanks alot im not sure of the resolutions of the screens....im only changing them because there is a big crack in mine and a friend doesn't use his old dv6000 he gave me
but really thanks dude
ENASTY7ALLDAY 11 months ago
@ENASTY7ALLDAY No problems, heres another hint, try to salvage the LVDS cable (Cable between the motherboard and the LCD panel), that'll make a higher resolution screen work on a lower res computer.
