My Dog Ate a Chicken Bone

Many dogs get into the trash and snag a chicken bone, beef or pork rib, and a piece of steak bone. If a small piece of bone is chewed up well, there should be no medical problems. The problem occurs when a large amount of baked or barbecued chicken or steak bones or a turkey carcass is consumed. Barbecued bones are brittle and can be sharp. They also act like cement in the intestines and can cause a blockage. Small pieces of bones, if chewed well usually cause no problems. I feed my dogs raw chicken wings and chicken thighs...small bones and all...to keep their teeth clean!! That is part of the Dog Dish Diet!

My dog ate four whole chicken bones and she does not chew ate all. She just swallows. Should I be worried about this??

@ZombieOps5563 Hopefully she's ok! Most dogs digest those bones easily. If she looks and feels ok today, she's taken care of the bones. They are good nutrition. Check my website dogdishdietcom

My dog may have eaten a bone from a pork chop last night around 7:30. At 3:30 this morning she threw up. No sign of blood. Just a lot of Alpo. Please help ASAP!!! Thank you and Godbless

@ShockExtreme1 Sometimes the pork and bone will irritate the stomach.After 12 hours or so the bone could get stuck in the intestine. Most times nothing happens and they are fine. Give her a pepcid 10mg for two days.Feed her rice

@MaddLagger If dogs eat something out of the ordinary they will sometimes get an upset tummy for a bit.Pepcid AC works great to calm an irritated stomach 1/2 pill for 10 pound dogs 1 pill for all over ten pounds

dog ate pretty old fried chicken breast. when i got home she was all happy, filled her water bowl drank the whole thing (pretty big burp from a little cock - a poo lol). then shaking, then panted for about 1 min. no puke nor direaha that i know off. felt her stomach and didn't seem in pain. feed her some bread and seemed like normal. she hasnt been eating last couple days because her mom (human) is out of town, that is normal, she eats when she gets excited from guest.
