That's "the Making off..." our John Deere 4430 from 1972.
We bought that Tractor in France and rebuild it. We tuned him up a bit too for Tractor Pulling. He competes in the 4.5ton Sportscategory.
Specifications original:
6,6l 6 Cylinder Turbocharged engine
125hp
Weight: over 5 tons

The Changes we have done 2007:
Decreased the compression to 14,5:1
Put a Holset HX 50 Turbo on
Flowed Cylinder head
Bigger inlet-valves and stronger springs
Injection:13mm elements in a Bosch A Pump
Combined the pto and drive clutch by welding the two shafts together
Taking all the pto-stuff out wich is not used anymore

Estimated Power: 350hp

Setup 2008:
Rebuilding Clutch
Rebuilding Camshaft
Gearboxwork

Power 2008: 450hp ???

  • WOW! your the smartest mechanic in the world

    pitty it blew up

  • i m not a mechanic...

  • where did you get that fuel pump made? and how much did that cost? i want to put some thing like that on my deutz 130 06

  • From a guy in the netherlands. costs quiet a lot. was the most expensive part of the whole tractor.

  • i have seen you in holland this sunday the tractor is very nice, sounds nice but way dit you drive that slow in holland?

  • Hey betturbo.

Thanks for the compliments.Well, the reason why i drove so slow is simply because in a bigger gear he would have died. In this cathegory (4.5ton Eurochallange = simular to 4.5ton Supersport in NL) there were Tractors with 9 litres engines, intercooler and far above 1000 hp. I m competing in the 4.5ton Sport cathegory. You are only alowd to have 7 litres engines without intercooler. Wich means with 550 hp you can't drive as fast... as the strong guys ;-)

But i had a lot of fun ;-)

  • Awsome job and tractor, and this is coming froma farmall guy. So what turbo did you replace the HX50 with? Because 5 bar is around 70 psi so I think a 2.6-3.0inch inducer Schwitzer S366 might be a good replacement. Just an idea, keep up the pulling!

  • Nice work, great video. Good luck in the future.

  • Great vidio

  • This is an awesome vid. I wish there was more performance rebuilds like this!

  • Hay samswiss that is one bad deere glad you shared that with us good luck in every pull.

  • Pull that thing in fisrt thats where the most lugging power comes from and your not gonna carry momentum with a sled

  • un bon vidéo bravo!!! bon montage photo.vidéo...et de tracteur!!!

  • Now that was a Sweet video !! at first you guys looked like you dident know what to do. But all I can say is you boys are the REAL deal. You took her down to nothing and made one heck of a puller WTG.

I was wondering how much boost you were running then I saw the intake manifold blow. You did a real nice job with the new intake,

Swiss watches and now Swiss Super Tractors.

Thanks a bunch for the post now I think I will get my Super C ready for a tractor pull hehe.
