Then they will go to school, where they will hear story about how we evolved from a primoridial soup, and that all beings evolved from nothing, by nothing for no reason.

And the most shocking thing is, they will lie to you and cliam it's a scientific fact that they can't prove.

Angie, you're awesome. It's really amazing how simple your logic is, and it's amazing how much effort the church has put into making every life guilty,unworthy, and duty; and how each of us should eschew our own blood relatives when they choose their own way. Oh, and let's not forget how the catholic church created the most horrific torture tools and methods, because god loves you. LOL

@j919or You don't know who is headed for hell or not. For all we know, "Allah" could be real and your god isn't. For all we know, Zeus could be in the sky kicking Yahweh's ass. Don't try and judge others based on what your Tribal desert-fairy book says. If you rely on a magical bearded man in the sky to guide your life then you have self control problems and are incapable of thinking on your own. Get help.

your son is not evil and god doesn't think you or him are bad like you said. He died for you because he loves you and blah blah blah , you of all ppl know the rest. I think there is a huge difference in you thinking that god sees you as evil and bad and what the bible says that you were born with a sin nature. Just an observation, ever notice you don't have to teach a child to rebel and disobey and throw temper tantrums. It's in his nature, doesn't mean he's evil or even bad. Just my 2 cents.

I think that you might just have explained some of my psychological issues...such as feeling of never being able to measure up to expectations and unreasonable feelings of guilt. I was told since infancy that I was an awful sinner in need of redemption, and I was responsible for Jesus dying. I don't think that these parents really think about the negative effects that these messages could have on children in the long run.

@j919or We as a species wouldn't have survived unless we saw our lives as important. It's an evolutionary trait, if you accept the logic behind evolution. I see us as no more than a species which has surpassed all other species in the fight for survival. With consciousness comes questioning, which leads to a need for "purpose". So we create one in order to survive.

Are you saying I'm headed for Hell? How do you justify that? How is your belief in eternity more valid than my disbelief?
