Capturing some of the lighter moments of our hospital stay, this is a montage of Ellie's EMU (Epilepsy Monitoring Unit) session at Children's Hospital in Colorado. We were there from January 1st to the 9th, 2012. The purpose of our stay was to record the EEG of one of Ellie's seizure, to ascertain the emanating discharge in her brain. A status seizure (+30 minute seizure) that required emergent care and transport, was the impetus for her admission.
It was a very long, emotional stay, but there were moments of levity. Ellie received visits from her sister, Katie, (who had to be given special permission to be on the floor), her grammy and grandpa, and a huge St. Bernard, who's head may have been bigger than her.
The song is "Let yourself be huge" by Cloudkicker, courtesy of Bandcamp. All of the footage was taken on a point-and-shoot, Panasonic Lumix, and some of photos were taken with an iPhone 3.

I am a member of the Journey Church and just received an email update about your family this morning. This video is beautiful and heartbreaking. I know our community at The Journey will be reaching out and walking through this with you as much as we possibly can. Much love, Regina.

@RecherchePhotography Thank you, Regina. The church has been incredible in it's care for us, especially considering how new we are to it's body. We appreciate your care.

Hello, I have found you through a common prayer partner that Ellie has been on their prayer list. Our daughters story is almost identical. We have gone through multiple treatments & being healed. It is like reliving all of our daughters story! Our daughter is now 8 and we are rehabilitating!

@Ilovemymercedes1 That's amazing! It's hard to imagine. Ellie's going into surgery tomorrow, to get another hemispherectomy. The hope, of course, is that by taking out the additional brain tissue, she'll stop having these status seizures. Thanks so much, for watching our videos and taking the time to write us.
