You may not expect a game based on concentration and patience to be played during lunchtime in a bustling city, but petanque has found a home in midtown Manhattan's Bryant Park. With its roots in southern France, the sport has gained a following amongst businessmen, New York City locals and the park's tourists. Dana Jackson is a entrepreneur by night, and a member of La Boule New Yorkaise by day, a championship petanque club that hosts daily lessons to all those who wish to learn. Reporter Ian Thomas sat down with Dana one afternoon to talk about the sport, what he loves about spending his afternoons playing and how this little known game has caught on in one of the biggest cities in the world.
