In 1991, Paul Anastas coined the term "green chemistry" and launched a movement toward the manufacture and use of environmentally friendly chemicals. Today, green chemistry has entered the mainstream, and Dr. Anastas has received worldwide recognition for his contributions to science and sustainability. A leader of the Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Research and Development, Dr. Anastas serves on the faculty at Yale University, where he is director of the Center for Green Chemistry and Green Engineering.
