@awsomeguy217 - 58 to be exact, and I do it because I can. Life is too short to take it seriously, why so serious? Check out the steampunk movement sometime. Attend a sci-fi con, live a little!

@enganear Man I think you are awesome and don't listen to people who hate on you for doing what you love. I've caught my fair share of shit for being into Steampunk, let alone anything not considered "normal". What is "normal" anyway, right?

@awsomeguy217 Because not everyone is a boring low life like you?

@awsomeguy217 Because playing with toys is fun, no matter how old you get.

@enganear Sadly no, but it remains an important milestone in navel history. The idea was to have the explosive on the end of a pole and literally ram the enemy ship. I have a lot of admiration for the crew of the sub, volunteering for something radically different and dangerous. But knowing the fate of the local populace rested on them breaking that blockade.

@DarkEmoE - Actually, the most commonly accepted definition of steampunk is Victorian science fiction. The wonderful thing about steampunk is that you make it your own.

@moocw7889 steampunk is not sci fi. steam punk is mixed alot with gothic culture. but not sci fi. i guess this guy is just into sci fi along with steampunk though.
Did the Confederates have any interesting weapons in the steam punk universe?

@TheSouthernGentleman - None that I have yet uncovered in my research and I am also a son of the South. The North was a more industrial based society than the agrarian South and this goes hand in hand with the advancement of weapon technology.

@enganear Ah, but in an attempt to break the blockade we did field the first submarine to ever successfully sink an enemy ship. :)

@TheSouthernGentleman - Ah, you are of course correct, but if I recall correctly, the craft did not return from the mission.
