If you understand that the family that took her in had little to no contact with Rifqa before she went to them and that when she arrived they barely knew each other then it becomes irrelevant to her case to restrict her phone and internet use. There's little possibility that she's been brainwashed over the internet. This is especially apparent after listening to Rifqa's own testimony. Read this excerpt from a recent Orlando article. Judge for yourself, does this seem at all odd to you that even though she's done nothing wrong they'd do these things to her?

I thought it necessary to post this video since it was on WOFL Fox 35's news-page, but didn't seem to have made its way to YouTube.
I hope you'll form your opinion without any media-biased influence or ill-persuasion. However, please consider this:
You're free to form your own opinions, but you can't form your own facts! This video makes it clear that she wasn't brainwashed at all! I think this video makes it very clear that she had a genuine conversion - she was saved a good 3-4 years before ever knowing the Lorenz family. She didn't know the Lorenz's long enough for her to have been persuaded into choosing to live with them over her family, either. She simply wanted to get away from her present danger and chose them as a place to flee to. If you're endangered by not only a threat from your father, but by the Muslim community surrounding, wouldn't you flee the state? You wouldn't just run across the street or even across town. The Lorenz family was a good choice. They had connections: they could consult 11 different lawyers. Rifqa is a Christian - she's going to feel safest in the hands of church leadership and Pastors. It was the decision that made the most sense to her at the time that anyone else would make, and the Lorenz family were only responding to a threat for the girl's safety with little time to consider any legal ramifications. Who knew this would get national attention? In my opinion, they are certainly justified and the facts back that up.

This video is from:
"Extended Lorenz interview, Published: Friday, 18 Sep 2009, 7:14 AM EDT, ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Full length interview conducted by FOX 35's Tracy Jacim with the couple who welcomed runaway Christian convert Rifqa Bary to Florida and provided her a place to stay for two weeks."

"Earlier Tuesday an Ohio judge ordered the state to supervise Bary's telephone and Internet use at the request of Children Services.

Jim Zorn, a Children Services' attorney, says Bary's use of Facebook contributed to her problems, a charge Bary denies.

Kort Gatterdam, an attorney representing the girl, opposed the request, saying problems were caused by a conflict between the girl and her parents, not the Internet."
