Wow this is freaky...I just happen to be thinking of this song (and one other off this same CD) so I punched in a Google search for 'Tom Petty Wildflowers You Tube' and come up with this vid that you'd dedicated to your mom Phyllis.
My mother's name was also Phyllis, she passed away over 8 years ago and we were VERY close, I miss her so much.
I had already loved this song anyway but now it takes on yet more meaning, thank you so much.

I lost my mom at 17 , and just lost my dad 19 years later ..in sept...i guess they are among those Wild flowers..

You are correct:) The slides were my grandparents' and I projected them to the wall and shot digitals.
