In June 2011 BAFTA and The Script Factory hosted a two-day training and networking event for anyone passionate about screenwriting.
In this video, director Mike Newell (Donnie Brasco, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban) focuses on the relationship between the director and the screenplay. He explains why 'a good man in a bad jam' is a better premise than it sounds, why the Four Weddings screenplay was 'directorproof', where his interest in character comes from, and why his directing style is determined entirely by his writers.

The 4th film was the worst ! Lucky he didn't make two !
I was sooo disappointed when I saw it ! It looked like a cheap teenage american movie ! It was a scream. Nothing profond, just pretending.
ANd what was it with their haircut ? Did he think it would bring the characters closer to the hairy public ? 'Cause it was just ridiculus. And WHO wrote the dialogues of that movie ??? they suck ! And why the hell is Dumbledore acting like a mad psycho ?
Hated it !
