I know what you mean. The male vocalist on this song is Joe Pizzulo and he certainly does sound exactly like Peabo Bryson. Funny enough, around the same time this song was popular years ago, Peabo Bryson recorded the hit ballad If Ever You're In My Arms Again. That song and this one are still to this day real favourites of mine when it comes to contemporary soul ballads.

I could have bet my ass the singer was Peabo Bryson. No wonder it took me for ever to find the song...until I start searching for the lyrics to this wonderful song. Awesome!
