Inspired by
This took a longer time making the HUD than it took making the stop motion. Then again considering the model is simply spinning once then shooting makes it pretty easy. The first person view was inspired by Raven101091's videos (one of my Gundam stop motion heroes) and so let me know how this is, please! I want to know if this cockpit view is respectable.

  • Nice, Can I ask a copy? I don't have a UC HUD. Where'd you get that ?=)

  • @Raven101091 I searched for 'gundam cockpit view' on google and found a screen shot from a wii gundam game. Put it in an editing program and put in the screen. I can send you the image with the green screen. What photo editing software do you use?

  • @myshoescramp I started stop motion with legos but that didn't work out too well lol (check out my first couple vids on my channel to see what I mean.) Its weird but even though the legos have much less articulation and are more stable with easier movements, I find the Gundams easier to animate! O.o If I had tried this scene with legos... well it wouldn't be this good haha The main prob I have right now is finding a good mac stop motion program because iMovie only lets me use about 10 FPS

  • @xaayer hey no worries, and if you want my advise then I'd suggest you try animation a much simpler figure but with a high frame rate because then it gives you a much better feel of how fast the frames pass by, I say to use a simpler figure because I know how much harder it is to animate a Gundam compared to other more standard figures. I'm still not that good either but I did this and I thought it really helped in the long run.

  • @xaayer I use adobe. Yeah I'd apreciate that, I'd like to edit it a bit and tweak around with the HUD =)

  • @myshoescramp Yeah sorry about the frame rate. I am still trying to figure out just how many pics to take to make it more fluid. :/ also tried to do an Ease-in, Ease-out to show movement like Fancypants (the lego stop motion animator) said to do for quick movements. Either way I think that my earlier ones are a little better framerate wise (working with iMovie :/)
