A friend has just commented that if Nigel Bloxham wants to attract a lot of people to his sea-food restaurant why doesn't he put it on the Torquay harbourside where thousands of prospective customers pass by every day.
Well done! and well said, Mark! in digging out the plans and showing them to us. Quite a bit bigger than what the Herald Express shows us. The Herald Express is just the mouthpiece of the local, in power, Tory council. Remember how the paper used to rip into the Lib-dems when they were in power? Hopefully this Babbacombe Downs issue will be the 'crematorium crucifix' that will bring the council down.
Mark, My objection is different to yours. I see your objection as being more 'scientific'. My objection is more 'emotional'. I grew up in the area and love the beauty of the Downs and its views, this depends on its naturalness which I'd like to see preserved.
Torquay has attracted visitors here over the decades because of it's natural beauty, if you kill off that beauty, by building on it and obscuring it, the visitors won't come.
