  • Three years is great. Also good to have more women Lion Dancers out there. Please check out Gund Kwok on the internet. This troupe just celebrated their tenth anniversary. They will be going out this Sunday for CNY of the Ox in Boston. They will be out for probably 6 hours of nonstop drumming & lion dance in Boston Chinatown blessing every store. Come to Boston next CNY and you can join them for the day and have a CNY feast at night. They will go out with probably 50 people this year.

  • I can't say that we are an established lion dance team because we do it as a part of our Eucharistic Youth Group. We haven't really danced much except for the time around Lunar New Year. I still have a lot to learn about lion dancing; it's only my third year!

Oh yeah I forgot. We're from California.

  • This is Hokkien Lion Dance. Are you a lion Dancer? I help out with a women's lion dance troupe in Boston, Gund Kwok and they would like to learn this dance. There is no green faced lion in Boston and very little in the US.

  • It IS very beautiful and scary. This is the Northern type of lion dancing right?

  • it call qing shi in chinese(green lion) it call qing shi because in the pass people use this to represent fan qing fu ming(destroy qing dynast n restore ming. it normally dance with fighting with sword blade spear etc

  • this green lion is a rare type of lion...

  • The green faced lion is very beautiful and scary, it is from Fukien area of China and green sky dragon is correct. It is also considered a traditional lion dance from Taiwan. They have both closed mouths and working mouths. I know of one martial arts troupe in Malaysia that uses it to come out at the start of their performances and cleans the stage, I wish I could see more of this lion.

  • It's a fighting lion. I read about it somewhere

  • apparantly this is supposed to b the top of the heirarchy of lion dances. Its supposed to be the most revered lion that even the dragons bows down to it.

This lion was created to celebrate the fall of the manchurains which is why it looks so menacing.... so its not japanese

  • its japanese i think...i saw this type before..if not its a weird northern style lion head
