Norwegian doctor Mads Gilbert, one of the doctors currently treating injured Palestinians in Gaza, described the situation: «Many arrive with extreme amputations, with both legs crushed, (wounds) that I suspect are wounds inflicted by Dime (Dense inert metal explosives). All that is happening in Gaza here now is against international law, it is against humanity and I think it is against what it means to be a decent person.»

Human Rights Watch has accused Israel of firing phosphorous shells and warned of the possibilities of extreme fire and civilian injuries. The chemical is suspected in the cases of burn victims who had skin peeling off their faces and bodies.

Mounting evidence is emerging that Israel is using non-conventional weapons against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip in its latest offensive, according to an Italian research group. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/news/2009/01/mil-090113-misna0...

In this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiICW9ihpAo Dr. Ahmed Almi, a member of the delegation of Egyptian doctors who finally gained entry to the strip to support Gazan hospitals during the crisis, outlines some of the most serious cases resulting from the attacks.
