  • i knew it the second i saw the vid...... nah thats cool man...... at least you did admit to it being a fake video......

  • Well, it seems to me you didn´t recognized my irony. So, lets be a little bit more precise: neither the engine and its testing nor the video itself is a fake. Have a look at the linked video which is from another reputable uploader and you will see that the bench exists and becomes used.

  • Damn, you got me :-D You´re right, Porsche never developed a V8 engine and therefore it never was tested :-D

  • Ever heard of a V8 in the Cayenne or Panamera? And probably not of tilt and turn rigs at engine testbeds....

  • What do you think this engine is used in? ;-) It was pure irony...

  • That's way Porsche is the company that it is, successful in every aspect of the word, that's way every Porsche is a piece of engineering, made to withstand the most severe conditions and driving styles, in both street and racing use.-

  • This rig was developed by SCHRICK of course.

  • @TheYTCable

A force vector (accelerations) is added in real world operation to the gravity force vector.

This test seems to approximate the resulting force vector with the gravity force alone by tilting and rolling the engine.

It will, of course, not be able to approximate varying forces from g (gravity), but at least the direction will be correct.

  • @lastmiles every 928 had a v8.

  • V8 Cayenne turbo has an issue of burning oil.

They build bad v8s and awesome v6's

  • I love Porsche engines more than another ones. Beautiful and usefull engine´s testing, proving why the Porsche´s is one of the best

  • Porsche 928 V8 was a joint effort from Porsche and Mercedes Benz, that engine was also in the E500/500E

  • gravity force does not change direction in relation to the engine. does the test take that in consideration?

  • The rig simulates acceleration, braking and cornering forces on the engine... Pretty cool...

  • @Porsche1080

If you are a true Porsche fan and connoisseur you should know what I meant when I say that Porsche is

    “LIKE NO OTHER”

There’s many ways to describe the biggest icon in the auto industry.

Besides common things in cars like wheels, tires and an engine, do you think that Porsche is comparable to any other car in the world?
