Hate Lyrics Murder Music & Free Speech

Gay Liberation Network Television host Andy Thayer & guest Nora Flanagan from Turn It Down discuss bands that use anti-gay hate lyrics. Some lyrics cross the line between free speech and hate speech by calling for the abuse, torture, beating, mutilation and murder of a group of people.

Discussion topics include the white hate bands on the compilation CD, "Smashing Rainbows" and concert cancellations of reggae dancehall singer, Buju Banton.

While Buju has made much of his career on non murder music (roots reggae) singing and selling Boom Bye Bye puts him on same level as some dance hall dons as well as neonazi oi punk bands. Isnt that just sad?

Buju needs to change that old part of him, cease murder music and there will be no reason for gampaign against him. But campaign should never be called RASTA got hate since that is untrue, as well as it relates to a million or more people worldwide that might not chant murder music

It does make me wonder if these so-called 'white supremasists' have ever looked closely at their own genealogy.No-one is truly from one single race.But then they probably won't explore their history 'cause it would no doubt throw up something which would horrify them.
