The coatimundis in the Zoo's Carnivore Kingdom spend a lot of time digging and rooting around in their exhibit area. And they turn up all sorts of interesting things - some put there by the keepers, and some that walked, flew, or crawled in.

  • what is the origin of this animal?

  • @aliniazgd Coatimundis are members of the raccoon family (procyonids).

I believe all of the ones currently inhabiting the Zoo are brown or white-nosed coatis (Genus Nasua narica). Brown or white nosed coatis can be found in the southwestern United States, Mexico, and Central America.

I hope this answers your question - I wasn't sure if you were asking a zoological or a geographical question!
