From SuziWong to pushing 'weel pulvawized peaws' & non stop lectures on her ground breaking roles from sterotypes. The first Asian this & repressed Asian that. Why didn't she spend her empty time doing worthwhile projects & tours stamping out communisim when there was NO oppty for her. That would have been a credit to her intellect.Instead she takes the easy way out whining & reminding us of her Asian half ...ad nauseum but typical.

@mover1111 It has to start with good Asian writers. You cannot expect a White writer to write a story and automatically think of the character as being Asian because their images and mentality are also shaped by our modern commercialized society where beauty is defined by magazines, television, and advertisements.

@filmwannabe2009 There's nothing wrong with Asian music as long as they don't use a ubiquitous gong noise everywhere.

@mover1111 It will change. If Asians become so good that nobody can deny them, then it will change. Actually, Asians made great strides in movies for awhile. Only in the last 10 years has there been a real regression in good strong roles for Asians. Why? The audiences. Not enough support from Asians and white americans want to see Asian women objectified as sexual objects and Asian males pinned as weak underlings that will do what they're told.

@itwillbealright not enough Asian American directors out there who are willing to do those things. they're too busy doing chores for Hollywood and not advancing our cause. the only places u will see Asian males in positive light is in small indie films which nobody watches. the big studios will never let those type of movies ever get released. in order to break the barrier we need to be seen by the masses..not is some small indie films. we need creative directors who can sell the product.
If you listen carefully there is asian sounding music in the background, and at the end an asian sounding narrator. So, I guess what these actors are going through, the issue of stereotyping, is still relevant even in the documentary.

about movie 21, the story is based on real life story of a group of asians, however the cast is mainly white (except the geek/losers are played by asian)
when people say the movie is racist, the Studio executives said that "most of the film's actors would be white, with perhaps an Asian female."
it says a lot. one can just tell that hollywood has a thing against asians, especially asian male.
