"coping with babylon" looks at the present state of the world as perceived by some of the most outspoken members of the Rastafarian movement. Shot on digital video in New York and Jamaica, "coping" lets the subjects tell their own story in pure documentary style void of third party narration. The Rasta faith is revealed to be dynamic and grounding, even as each denomination, or "house" of Ras Tafari, exhibits a unique form of resistance against the power structure that shapes our world, the "Babylonian system," in Rasta terminology.

  • That baldhead is a wise wise man bredda. Don't forget that Rasta is a state of heart-mind and not a hairstyle or a specific accent. Also no respect goes to those black fools who think that the gates of Zion will open to accept only those that have black skin. Like HIM said "until the colour of a man's skin is of no more significance than the colour of his eyes there'll be war." Rasta is open to people of all colours and races and racism of any colour is a child of Babylon and shall burn with it.

  • and you'll soon find out that Barrack Obama is babylon too

  • Yes mon...Babylon is a state of mind of the individual that wants to deal with it as such. Sure, it's attractive to call America Babylon against the black man. But realize that at nearly every corner of America, a black person runs it now...LOL...Stay in denial if it provides you relief.

  • ok why do all jamacins reffer to babylon i work with a tone of jamacians and they said that it mean that your evil or ruthless sumthing along the lines of that!? can anyone explain further!? cheak out my channel to!

  • @truth7501

you dunno what you saying man...of course we all know about slavery and how this happened(yes white men did it)...but don't you think that people can learn and grow up and change....Rasta IS of no colour...this colour bullshit is only deviding...what binds us together is greater than what drives us apart

  • @estaloca311

What you say is off. Once again those who claim to be Rasta or support the truth in Rasta are deceivers and ignorant of the truth. If you are a Rasta, You are a Garveyite, a Pan Africanist. Only Black people can be Rasta. As Marcus said, the white man is and always will be a white man who protects his interest. . People like you have help to undermine the truth of the movement to uplift Africans at home and abroad. Africa for the Africans, at home and abroad.
