This is a great song, but Rainy Day was not a Susanna Hoffs album. Rainy Day was the name of a 1983 album project consisting of several California 60s-revival bands covering songs from the 60s. The participating bands were The Dream Syndicate, Green On Red, The Three O'Clock, Rain Parade, and the Bangles. The early 80s California 60s-revival scene was referred to as the Paisley Underground in the press.

Wonderful songs; improved by Susanna's passionate voice; a little too much reverberation though that drowns her clearness of her voice, I think

Same with me - she has a mysterious penetrating voice....
I read somewhere some months ago that the Jewish people are the most musical people in the world; and like Ofra Haza, this girl really can sing in a very emotional way...:
Those of you who read this and are not familiar with Ofra Haza's songs, should listen to her now

this is NOT from a Susannah Hoffs album called Rainy Day. it is from a Rainy Day album called Rainy Day. Ms. Hoffs is in the band and does sing lead on 2 songs ion the album.it is kinda a Dave Robeck (Rain Parade, Opal and Mazzy Star) album more than anything else.

Look for 'Rainy Day' and not Susanna Hoffs.

Incredible version! Susanna's take is equal to Nco and the VU's.
Wow. I am a huge fan of both Susanna Hoffs and the Velvet Underground, and to hear Susanna's lovely voice singing one of the Velvets' most beautiful songs is just heavenly.

Also check out my posting of Susanna's "I'll Keep It With Mine". I think you will like that as well.
