Pro-Marriage Supporters Bullied and Intimidated by Gay Marriage Protesters

New York & Rhode Island

www.nationformarriage.org

The National Organization for Marriage is on a month long 23 city tour to promote and protect marriage between a husband and wife. This past weekend NOM's Summer for Marriage Tour was met with aggressive protests in New York and Rhode Island.

"This is the face of tolerance, This is the face of tolerance."

"Activists that come and try to break up our rallies and silence us, the moment we allow them to silence us is the moment our civil rights have been taken away. Are we going to allow that to happen?"

The Albany protesters came armed with balloons and rainbow colored umbrellas silently marching onto the platform during the rally. Others followed a Hispanic woman to the back of the rally bullying her as she tried to nurse her baby and watch the rally with her children.

"Their goal was intimidating my family me and my 3 children, small children 5 and under which I think they did the job."

"Shame. Shame. Shame."

In Providence the protesters were even more aggressive shaking bottles filled with rocks targeting young children with intimidation and storming the podium as an attempt to shout down the speakers.

"You better watch that kid or were gonna kidnap him."

Capital police were ill equipped to handle the 150 protesters eventually calling in State Highway Patrol to help restore order. Supporters of the National Organization for Marriage remained peaceful at both events with many saying the protesters inspired them even more to spread their message of respect for human dignity and the importance of marriage for children and society.

"We need to stand for our families and we are not going to back off."

  • @YankinMichaine haha

  • And seriously, "shaking bottles full of rocks?" You guys are threatened by improvised maracas?

  • Ohs noes. People shouting at each other at protests. You poor conservatives are so beaten down by the mean mean wibberals. All you want to do is spread your message of hate and intolerance, and those nasty gays have the nerve to disagree with you and counter-protest. How dare those homos have the nerve to "take away your free speech" by having their own opinions. Seriously, there's nothing sadder than a fascist who is also a p*ssy. Grow a frelling backbone.

  • Wow, selective footage at all?

Also, amusing these so-called people for marriage speak of their civil rights including their right to speak yet they use that free speech to try and keep others' civil rights away from them. That's absolutely absurd.

Once full gay rights are achieved methinks that you are going to see far less of these closeted couples. New generations will be more aware of what is out there and will be able to make more choices. Many of these people will probably still marry, but in the future, it will likely be to someone of the same sex. Furthermore, they will almost certainly end up much happier.

There are religious bodies that have gay members and clergy: The Episcopal Church, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the Presbyterian Church, the Metropolitan Community Church, the Methodist Church, the Presbyterian Church, the Universalist Unitarian Church, the United Church of Canada. the Church of Scotland and the United Church of Christ, as well as Reformed, Reconstructionist and Conservative Jewish Temples and Synagogues.

  • @RCSVirginia Actually, I DID know a couple as you described.. Though they didn't quote scripture. I remember their oldest daughter said, one day, "I got to camp out with mommy last night cuz Uncle Mike came to have a sleepover with daddy". No joke. We all knew, and nobody cared. If you've watched or read anything about "Gay Conversion" revivals, you've seen that Bible scripture makes them think they, themselves, are "repulsive". IDK. It's hard to say what they'd be like with no religion?

  • @RCSVirginia But of course (flips hair in an awesome way)

  • For a great response to all the haters in NOM who feel that they have been bullied--wah, wah, wah--check out YouTube video.
