September airshow is goin 2 b a cracker the VULCAN is goin :). 2 Gladiators, Spitfires, BBMF, Mustangs plus modern jets gonna b gr8 !!

Ah right. I am going in september, first airshow so i splashed out £70 for the gold pass. I hope its worth it !!!!

isnt it funny how every one else manages to get there planes ready for airshows but us one of the b17s has flown the atlantic to be hear and wheres ours stuck in a bloody hanger with engine problems

Thanks very much, its settled the conversation between myself and my wife we were having on the day.
She being the fan of planes, and myself a fan of the tanks.
It is a shame that the Pink Lady possibly won't fly again and will be grounded in France.

That is SUCH bad luck - I imagine it'll be a long time before we have three airworthy B17s together in Britain again. Thanks for the info.
Thanks for this - made a brave (and in the end, disastrous) decision to go to Fairford instead, and of course it was called off. However, I'm amazed they only flew 2 B17s together when they could have had 3 - wasn't 'Sally B' available for some reason?

She has been grounded all year with engine problems - currently awaiting her third port outer engine of the year!!!

Isn't the Pink Lady a b17-f, due to the lack of chin turret?

No, its a B-17G with the Chin Turret removed to give the impression of an F Model.
