In this eight-part series of dzogchen teachings, Geshe Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche explains the essence of a heart teaching by Dawa Gyaltsen, an eighth century meditation master from the Bon Buddhist tradition of Tibet. These teachings are designed to guide one directly to the root of one's self, to the clear and blissful experience that is the true nature of mind.

  • Lovely video; his simplicity and clairty are beautiful! My experience accords with this and tells me that emptiness, clear light, pure consciousness, life, the silence of being, the interpenetrating connectedness of being, peace, compassion etc. all these are the same reality picked up from different aspects. These are the true "Divine Attributes" and also the core reality of the chakras. much love to all!

  • So, clear light means "empty knowingness"? Very interesting.

  • Thank you so much Rinpoche for sharing these wonderful lessons. You are able to put things so clearly and simply, and that is so helpful. May you live long that you may benefit many more beings.

Peace, love and joy be with you Rinpoche

    Thank you so much!

  • What is bad in emptiness to mean nothingness? If there were nothing, and if we did not exist, then there would be no WE to be suffereing. So what is light? Is light happiness? Light has nothing to do with happiness. We can still be happy in the dark. Better nt to be attached to light or dark.

  • its ok to feel dull, for me this is a better state to meditate as long as your not slipping in and out of consciousness, actually falling asleep, or letting random thoughts cloud your mind

  • Sit short and clear as opposed to long and dull is great great advice. One tends to forget this. However, oftentimes I find, I start off dull and sleepy and if I sit long enough clarity and more awareness comes in. Sometimes after 20 or 30 minutes.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

  • This is an excellent series. Would Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche like to make contact with the Aro gTer. Please contact me if you do.

    Thanks
