Golfer does not know his wood from the trees!!

This ring of wood was delivered as part of a consignment in Ballincollig, Co. Cork by Kiwi Mike to one of his customers. The ring was split by Donncha Long to reveal the golfball inside. By counting the rings on the branch which enclosed the ball, it would appear to have been there about 30 years. In 1971, Spaulding introduced the first Top-Flite model.
