@teamgrn no, it isn't tasty. It is clear, and after boling it down it does turn brown. If the liquid from the tree turns brown after a run of gathering sap from the tree, than the tree is telling you to stop taking sap as it has none left to give.

Why can't you reuse the bags? All these bags go in the landfill.

Did you guys say it takes a full chord of wood to make 5 US Gallons of syrup or is that a face chord of wood? I am curious cause I want to get into this business someday. Thanks!

@charronfamilyconnect A batch means about 2.5 gallons of syrup. Was say cord, which means a full cord not a half cord as in face cord.
