Sleep is often restful and there are no after-effects the next day. In Vanuatu, drinking strong kava is normally followed by a hot meal or tea. Eating after kava often makes it "kick," causing the effects to be felt for a second or third time. Certain supplements e.g. pills and tinctures that were manufactured using the cheap stems, leaves, and airy parts of Piper m. were used in the German studies that have condoned Kava. The media then snagged it up. Indigenous populations of the Islands throw away the leaves and stems, because they can be toxic to the liver. Try making it with the frozen root or root powder, it'll blow you away!
