you are a hero to people preparing to have this surgery and to allow the steps you have been through to be video taped has got to give so much comfort to people needing this surgery by removing the fears of the unknown you are to be commended for being such a comfort to them thank you.

i had the same procedure done to my left temporal lobe and mine was done on March 16th 2010. When did you get yours done and where and by whom if you don't mind me asking? So far haven't had one seizure since and am great, what about yourself?

It appears this gentleman received a lot of fluid during surgery. He appears to have some serious edema. It seems this gentleman had surgery on the left side, near the Wernickes speech area causing a speech pathology. The caption at the end states that doctors performed surger in the white matter of the brain. The white underlying the cortex of the cerebrum contains association fibers that transmit impulses within the same hemisphere. Perhaps this is the causation for the speech pathology.

Hi David, How are u doing with ur memory and speech therapy?

@DavidEpilepsy Wow, that is really awesome!! I came across your videos last night and watched them all.. It looked like all the testing was hecktic.. I had 13 V/EEG
s done since June 09 but nothing intercranial.. We found out surgery isn't an option for me so we didn't go that far.. I'm so glad that you have gotten your prayers answered and that the surgery was successful. :)
I had mine last year on March 17th... a day after my birthday. I can't disclose the doctor or hospital, but I am in Missouri. I had two seizures in August. We seem to have had it done on almost the same day. :)

Hey David... I was surprised to see you forgot her name. I plan on getting surgery on my left temporal, now I'm worried I will forget my girlfriends name. What kind of seizures did you have and what meds did you take? I have complex partial and take lamictal. What all pain did you have and long was you in the hospital? Where exactly did they remove from? How offeten did you have a seizure? Thanks...

@nsmcastillo326 After your brain being worked on, and on all that medication, waking up remembering things is hard. Over time it has gotten better, I sometimes forget names of objects, people and food! I had seizures every day, all day. I take Vimpat and Lamictal. I hope it all works out for you..
