What do you mean by "refreshing"? Does EVERYTHING in your life have to be fun and games, party time? Sometimes people need something serious and thoughtful (what you would call "boring") to consider where you are and where you're going in your life. In fact, a funeral should be a time to consider such things. Growing up, being mature, means everything can be outward excitement all the time. Become a mature woman, then see how you view church.

By this act of mercy we respond in Repentances & Faith that our punishment is already paid in JESUS. Therefore we give VOLUNTARILY our lives in total surrender as a token of gratitude for what HE did for us.
You may argue about the details & HIS existence, but I just explain to you that is not about HIM forcing us to surrender our livesAs Christians We dont HAVE to do it. We WANT to do it!

Let me explain in a reasonable way. HE is Perfect & WE are not, HE will not allow sin in heaven & as a Just God, sinful people should be punish in Hell forever.
HE demonstrated His love to us (Sinful people incapable to do something to erase our sins) by pouring His Wrath upon His Son JESUS who paid the condemnation that we deserve.

You just pointed out why I'm an atheist, you stated that as a christian I cant think for my self or have my own individualised views, on what music I should listion to, no parties, no beer, no science, no intellectualism of anykind. I would have to give up my autonomy as a christian. It kinda defeats the free will idea, when god basicly states your thought must be mine. It a bit of an intellectual inquriy!! It's not bad to questian, even if your questianing "faith"!

This is the perfect sample of a religious person leaving an institution, and looking for a "Me" church.
Sad.... a True Follower of Christ will rejoice in the Word of God taught & explained, no matter the building, people, or environment!
To this person I would say.... Repent of your Sins & place your faith in Christ as your Lord & Saviour..... Then go to Church to learn how to Love God.
