It is necessary this comparison, because most of people thinks Flash is only one software to do professional 2D animation for TV shows or whatever, if toon boom were more popular, the diference will be more clear, but for now, people believes, that Flash is the most efficient tool to do animation, that not necessary includes scripting.

.I don't really see the need to compare two animation programs. They're both great, and we know that because they're both used at major animation studios

whenever i see a really good flash animation it seems more fluid in motion then toonboom (or theres bearly any)

well duh animate is more powerful with 3d animation, because flash can't do 3d animation. flash could make a game or scripting comparison, who do you think would win that?

@Kyorere1 Animate has no scripting capabilities because animators are artists and not programmers.

@ToonBoomAnimation so quit comparing it to flash. flash is made for people who want to animate using interactivity. if they want 3d animation, they can just use blender or 3ds.

@Kyorere1 Your are missing the point. Animate is a 2D animation software for animators. It includes advanced animation features such as the 3D multiplane camera among many other things. Maybe you should give it a look :)

@ToonBoomAnimation i've tried animate, i like flash a whole lot better. and my point is that you shouldn't compare things with totally different goals, especially when it plays to a certain thing's pros and the other thing's cons. flash isn't MEANT for this, just like animate isn't meant for scripting

@Kyorere1 I am happy to see we are saying the same thing: Animate is for animation and Flash for scripting. That is why we are encouraging Flash animators to try Animate. We have developed close to 10 hours of free video tutorials to assist users in learning and mastering the tool. Animation is our passion and we are totally committed to our community.
