Beauty in the Eyes of the Beheld will be screened Tuesday March 22, 2011 in Washington DC, 6-9 pm. Filmmaker and some of the women will be there to share with the audience. Address is 901 G St. NW #200, free admission.

@grotop there is a film festival in Toronto that is considering screening it this June. Not sure when I will know either way.

"Beauty In the Eyes of the Beheld," will be screening in New York City Tuesday Feb. 23 at 7 pm. Location is Pace University Student Union at One Pace Plaza. Other locations/dates coming soon.

This event is part of National Eating Disorders Awareness Week Feb. 21-27. If your university has a health educator or counseling center, ask them to screen "Beauty In the Eyes of the Beheld" for National Eating Disorders Awareness Week.

I find it interesting that when a realistic documentary interviews women who are considered "beautiful" but are not airbrushed and made-up hollywood style, people criticize it. Yet the same people would probably criticize the media for portraying unrealistic standards of beauty. And the fact that you call them "self absorbed twats" is indicative of some of the difficulties this trailer seems to be portraying. You just proved its point.

I mean no disrespect. However none of the women in this trailer are beautiful. I find that generally women who say that they are beautiful are not. The women who are truly beautiful are generally not eager to say it.

@spackar I think the best way to view it is through the lens of eating disorders, especially anorexia. Anorexics have totally unrealistic images of themselves, and of what they want to look like. Impossible goals of being thin. It's a mental illness. I don't think this video is going to be about the superficial parts of beauty, but about the mental and emotional turmoil of people with eating disorders.

Some people with eating disorders like anorexia, have distorted images of themselves, and unrealistic images of what they think they should look like.
