Frederic Mompou (1893-1987) was born in Barcelona and studied piano there before going to Paris to study harmony and piano. It was in the 1920s that he became more and more famous, just like Andres Segovia and it was inevitable that they will met each other. It was in 1962 that Mompou composed the Suite Compostelana for Andres Segovia.
Suite Compostelana exist of 6 pieces:
-Preludio
-Coral
-Cuna
-Recitativo
-Cansion
-Muneira
Preludio is here performed by Thomas Rouw. Who played this guitar piece using the edition of Angelo Gilardino. This edition is based on a study of the original manuscript, so it lies as close as possible to the original.
