Amity in Fame's official music video to the song "The Villain", the first single of the band's long awaited second album "Through".

The band, who is known for rocking the crap out of their acoustic guitars, proves with this melancholic ballad, that it is not afraid from breaking its own conventions. Rumor has it though, that some songs of Amity in Fame's second studio album will be even harder than heard on the debut album "Dinner for One".

The song is about the feeling of being at strife with the world you live in, told by an archetypical figure we all know from countless stories -- the villain. He tells us about his feelings and the motivation for his actions.

The video pictures a man who isn't actually a villain but simply lives under the delusional idea that he actually is. That delusional idea was caused by a tragic incident that happened to someone he loved. The video shows an aspect of the archetypical figure of the villain that is not that commonly portraied and which in this story is the reason for his actions - grief and sorrow about a loss that can not be made undone but can only retaliated. This retaliation can sometimes be veiled by altruism. As retaliation doesn't lead to relief, the story of the villain is always a tragic one and this dramatic figure deserves compassion.

Special thanks to: Christof Huemer (camera, post-production), Werner Beham (camera), Wolfgang Ortner (acting) and Vlad Avy (mixing and mastering of the song)

  • Great sound, but the intent and heart are even better. Art makes us feel. You do that. Our humanity needs to think now with our hearts. Not our fears, lusts and hatreds.

The shaman artist painted the successful hunt on the cave walls to give us the vision of our making it real. Give us the visions, make it real. I'll dance around the fires of creative love with you. Its up to us.

    Thank you for your creative.

  • Talent shines through!. Great Job!
