    I think I am beginning to understand the concept. There's a location sound recording of the dialog, and then, in the studio, it is rerecorded by imitating the original. All this time I thought ADR was some sort of special sound recording device they used in the movies..that somehow manages to pick up dialogue from the actors perfectly while filtering out noise.

    This makes so much sense! But please, correct me if I am wrong
