Thank you Toby for sharing your story with us here today. Toby's story highlights what PyeongChang 2018 is really all about. It's about giving people with desire and talent the tools they need to excel and succeed. It's about expanding the potential of winter sports in underserved markets. A new horizons is ultimately about what the Olympic movement uniquely provides to the world, potential, opportunity, and hope. Some have said that this is a contest between the roots of traditional winter sports and the new shores of opportunity. Some have said that the winter games need to return to their traditional markets, to be replenished. Actually, of the 21 winter games held so far since 1924, 19 have been held in traditional winter sports markets, and only 2 have been held in Asia, and none in Korea. So if any region needs replenishment we humbly propose that we need the winter games in Asia, to nurture the seeds that were planted in Sapporo and Nagano so that they too can grow and flourish. But this race is not about geography.
It is a race about dreams. It is a race about human potential. I would now like to speak French:

S'appuyant sur la beauté du sport, le mouvement olympique possède le pouvoir sans égal d'être la source des changements socio-économiques, voir parfois idéologiques. La Corée a pu ressentir ce pouvoir directement à 1988, et depuis plus de 10 ans, nous nous ressentions de rêver de partager cette expérience avec ceux qui non pas encore eux cette chance. Nous avons déjà déclenché une série de changements positifs et profondes dans l'intérêt de notre pays que de celui de nos voisins. Le monde en considérable de nos investissement dans de nouvelles installations sportives, des équippes, et entraîneurs nouveaus contribuera aux développement du sport à tous niveaux, ensuite qu'à la profession des athlètes qui jouent aux Olympiques et Paralympiques d'Hiver. En outre, les nouvelles vedettes du sport comme Yu-Na KIM, inspirent les jeunes du monde entier à rechercher l'excellence et à practiquer une activité sportive. Je vais maintenant poursuivre en Anglais.(For the beauty of sport, the Olympic movement has the unique power to inspire social, economical, and sometimes even ideological change. Korea experienced this unique power firsthand in 1988, and for over 10 years we've nurtured the dream of sharing that experience to others. You've not have the opportunity. We've already set in motion a change of positive and profound changes for our people, and the region around us. The considerable level of our investments has been made in advancing the performance of the elite winter Olympic and pair Olympic athletes. And new sporting heroes can be expected, such as Yuna Kim. They are inspiring youngsters of the entire world to pursue excellence and physical activities, wherever they may live.) The 2018 winter games in PyeongChang will leave a unique and lasting legacy for generations to come. Every game does. But our games will be beyond bricks and mortars, a legacy beyond potential, world records, and gold medals. Ours is a legacy that creates opportunity and potential for young people, wherever they may be, and for whatever they may dream. Today is one of the most important days in the lives of every member of our team. Although I will admit the memory of this day will be a lot sweeter if you choose PyeongChang. It is an honor to represent our country. But perhaps even more poignant, it is an honor to have the chance to impact the millions of young people in the future. That is something that only the Olympic movement can provide to us. And it is something that only PyeongChang 2018 can provide to you today. We know that whatever decision you make today, will be in a stored quean. Uniquely, PyeongChang 2018 offers you both a historic choice and a historic chance to bring the winter games to Korea for the 1st time, and back to Asia for only the 3rd time. And in doing so, help us to deliver the potential, the promise, and yes the hope, of PyeongChang 2018 to millions of new hearts and minds around the world. Thank you very much for your attention this afternoon, and for the honor of participating in this campaign for the 2018 winter games.
