@Slickrick1853 back in the days, only the P4 had thermal throttling*. On other platforms the thermal protection was an optional feature on certain highend motherboards, bypassable by simply turning off the thermal protection in the bios.
*as the video shows, the cpu slowed down to reduce its thermal output, despite the fact that willamette is one of the few things in the computer world that deserves fiery death

How did he keep the CPU going? I mean most CPU's have a thermal shut off, once it detects a certain level the CPU will automatically shut down to protect itself. How did he bypass that saftey mechanism?
