What matters fach when you have an artist of this quality? This was 12 years ago, and if she was "forcing" her low notes, she would not still be singing: her voice sounds today just as it did in 1997. Her technique is natural and free. Call her a falcon if you must. I simply enjoy her musical offerings and am grateful that such an artist exists.
La Antonacci non è un mezzosoprano, ma un soprano corto. Di ottime Rosine ce ne sono a centinaia, per cui non vedo perchè prendersela con lei, che in altre cose ha dimostrato grande intelligenza e personalità.
People are so used to hearing a high coloratura soprano sing this role that few realize that Rossini mostly wrote for lower voices. Rosina was written for a contralto. Antonacci is probably a mezzo-soprano. Her low notes are fine, but her coloratura is dull.

I dont think I really buy her as a mezzo, her low notes arent so satisfying and sound forced

Divina Antonacci ! She is so called 'zwischenfach', but the 'fach' is not important, when you have such an artist. Brava!

@eradesso I don't think that is a bad note, but it's my opinion... :) I agree with @ilfig1iomio :)

a very beautiful voice her diaphragm never learned how to support. a pity, because she has great ideas in the phrasing.

@MisSty2589 Yes she is a mezzo. A mezzo that I like in other roles/performances..
I cannot be bothered to listen to the whole thing again to point out the various moments where she collapses but let's take that "resterò" at 1:38
Is that a good note? :)
