I am at the 216 km post just west of Pyrenees Loop on the main line between Melbourne and Adelaide. Check out the pumping mud hole and watch the cars bounce through the uneven track. A video to follow later will highlight that piece of track from another angle.....it is in very poor condition. PN obviously took care to pick the scruffiest unit they could find for this run.

  • WHY concrete SLEEPERS AND NOT NORMAL WOOD SLEEPERS

  • @xcvbnm125487 When properly installed they provide greater stability, last years longer and substantially reduce maintenance costs.

  • Unbelievable that they can't even wash a locomotive for an express train.

  • THAT TRUE SO WHEN THEY START FIXING THEM

  • Shameful that this is the main line between two large cities in one of the wealthiest nations on the planet.

  • I think the tracks where in better condition as wooden sleepers than concrete, atleast with wooden they got maintenance done on them weekly.

  • When will the government gives us rails suitable for the trains that are run on them - this is worse than third world.
