Facilitating not felicitating man. (had to put that in here) There are two different kinds of HBC/Us though. There are the ones that absolutely started as places of intellectual development and there are those that started as essentially industrial vocational schools (learning how to do what slaves did more effectively) like Hampton.

My only beef with these schools is that most if not all never have actual degrees in African studies, no advanced degrees in African-Studies...which I would expect from non-Black schools but it's the opposite and that doesn't help make knowledge about Africa (books, games, films) more accessible via knowledgeable scholars.

I agree with you, and that needs to change. I believe that it would change if more Black students attended HBCU's instead of "compromising" and attending other schools.
