I still enjoy a Tootsie Pop now and then. In high school(Enfield High, CT - class of 1978), we had a teacher named Mr. Blair who, as a gag, would reward you for a good presentation in class with a Tootsie Pop . . . and if you did a VERY good job, you didn't get to reach in the bag and get it yourself, he would hand you a CARAMEL Tootsie Pop. He was actually one of the more popular teachers in school. Wherever you, Chester Blair - thank you!

Dear Rowby,
I didn't even know that Pinky's father Mr.Leff was still alive then and living near his
famous son and his family?

Pinky's later shws, taped at the NBC Burbank studios were shot in color. Pinky Lee's father lived in the house behind ours -- and he arranged for tickets to the NBC Burbank taping. Doing his show in color was a big deal then. So I was in the audience at some point during the NBC color run.

I wondered why I was so addicted to Tootsie Rolls & Tootsie Pops after all these years. It's Pinky's fault. My Mother says I got my lisp from watching him. I still remember seeing him on tv and live at Kennywood Park. She says he actually came up to me but I got scared and began crying.
