Presenter Sean Bires (that's me!) covers Ichiro Itano and his influence on anime battles.

Apparently in some circles it's called "missile spam", but rest assured that "Itano Circus" is the accepted key word in the broader anime fandom.

  • Now I have to watch Ideon! <3

  • @LSDjTutorials yeah I'd check out the deranged "Be Invoked" ending movie at least... that movie is a real trip. The show might be miserable if you're not a fan of old super robots anime.

  • @te2rx The show itself is actually really good and just builds tragedy on top of tragedy until you get to Be Invoked. The action in that show is really good, thanks for the groovy info.

  • The awkwared moment when he said "It's totally sad ... and wonderful" and nobody laughed!

  • Did Otano work on Tekkaman (1975)? I don't know if it was one of the first, but the battles in that series were pretty dynamic and impressive. I understand Casshan had some interesting battles as well (produced two years before) but I havent seen it.

  • ive got to ask have you watched all the animes thats on tis whole sakuga

  • "It's totally sad ... and wonderful"

Way too excited about a 13 year old girl getting her head ripped off!

  • I love Itano Circus

  • When did this take place?

I would have LOVED to attend a panel about Ichiro Itano.

  • @wiizusuki

I agree; they are my first and second favorite animators, respectively. Of course, there's room in my favs list for those who aren't fight choreographically intensive, like You Yoshinari, H. Imaishi, and Inoue + Okiura.

  • yutaka nakamura and rorio matsumoto da best

  • Am I the only one that laughed at the term "Missile Spam"?

...history of animation might as well have been a series in itself. The backstories make each animator's essence more epic.

    Powah of Anamayshun!!
