Once Upon A Time The Super Heroes

This is a documentary made in 2002 about the creation and evolution of comic book superheroes (with a greater leaning towards Marvel comics.)

It show us superheroes such as Batman, Superman, The Flash, The X-Men, Captain America, Silver Surfer, The Fantastic Four, Hulk, Daredevil; with more of a focus on Spider-Man because of the movie released at the time.

The documentary features the creators, writers & artists behind the superheroes such as Dave Gibbons, Alex Ross, Jack Kirby, Stan Lee, Travis Charest, John Romita, Joe Kubert, Jim Lee, Carmine Infantino, Joe Simon, Mark Evanier, Paul Dini, Neal Adams, Joe Quesada, John Buscema, Bill Sienkiewicz and radio interview with Jerry Siegel.

  • What a great documentary, one of the nicest on the subject I've seen so far. Thanks for posting!

What was the old saying: "If You're tired of Marvel, You're tired of life"?

  • Steve Ditko was/is a very private man and doesn't like having his face shown. He said his art spoke for itself. The artist behind the art is unimportant.

  • Wonderful, thanks for share.

  • @Jcolinsol Kind of depends on which Marvel comics you're talking about, Jack Kirby's Thor stories for instance with touches like his hammer Mjolnir and the entire pantheon of gods and Kirby's original concept of The Silver Surfer & Galactus are IMHO rooted in mythology.

  • I grew up as a DC guy always loved DC but I've laltley been on a Marvel kick especially Spidey, X-Men, and the Fantastic 4 love the stuff

  • put the whole movie online,

put a torrent on the movie,

put the whole movie on megaupload,

    thank u

  • DC 4EVER!

  • DC comics tend to draw more on mythology.

Whereas Marvel comics tend to be about sublimating the cultural shift that was going on at the time: the metamorphosis of America from revolutionary underdog to a rather monstrous empire.

  • 3:16 stan lee looks alittle creepy

  • 9:40 who is the artist in that picture? I THINK he's joe sinnot. I might be wrong...

  • @FlamingoKicker

And of course, he had every right to that opinion. But I disagree with it.

  • 7 people did not make theirs Marvel. Untrue Believers.
