Figgy Duff-- in my opinion, the greatest musical act to ever emerge from NL-- their music is well worth checking out.

(from wikipedia...) Figgy Duff was a Canadian folk-rock band from Newfoundland. They played a major role in the Newfoundland cultural renaissance of the 1970s and 80s. Formed in 1976 by Noel Dinn, who named the band after a kind of traditional white pudding, Figgy Duff travelled across Newfoundland, learning traditional songs. They performed with some distinct elements of rock and roll.

Figgy Duff released five albums: Figgy Duff (1980), After The Tempest (1982), Weather Out The Storm (1989), Downstream (1993), Retrospective (1995). The line-up changed several times, but the core of Noel Dinn and Pamela Morgan, singer-songwriter, stayed the same. Their Weather Out the Storm was nominated for a 1991 Juno Award. Dinn died of cancer in 1993, and Morgan disbanded Figgy Duff soon after. ---

I was digging through junk one day and found my parents old LP's where I found this album. As a Newfy who now lives west I was compelled to listen to the entire thing.

I love this group! We had many people move from Newfoundland to the prairies. I understand how it means to live off the land. Bless us all who knew the hardships.
