www.ProGuitarShop.com - The Maxon OD-9 Overdrive pedal is the original tube screamer. Maxon was the OEM manufacturer for Ibanez from 1974 to 2002. If anyone tries to tell you that Maxon copied Ibanez, slap 'em! This is the original and no imitation out there can reproduce it. The Maxon OD9 Overdrive pedal is also the reason that the JRC4558 op-amp gained such notoriety. From clean boost to screaming overdrive, the Maxon OD-9 Overdrive pedal is still the choice of the pros.

The Maxon OD-9 Overdrive pedal sounds like...well a tube screamer! It is a tube screamer! With a smooth midrange boost to set your guitar out front of the mix, the OD-9 is perfect for soloing. It also makes a great rhythm pedal as well, chunking out the spanky overdrive that made the tube screamer famous. The Maxon OD-9 Overdrive pedal also features true-bypass to keep your tone clean.

  • @topografer There are good ones too. Metal ones are crap, like the Metal Zone, but for example the distortion DS-1 is one of the best worldwide (if Vai, Frusciante and people like this uses it there must be a reason!), and the same is for the Fuzz FZ-5, the clean Booster/Feedbacker and the Delays...And BOSS is cheap!

  • Wich is better This or the Ibanez TS9?

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos Would you say that this would sound good like this on an Orange TH30 clean channel? Thanks

  • @azwel Sounds like a hardware malfunction. I had a pedal that did that too.

  • @MindKillSwe Stevie Ray Vaughan - Testify

  • @topografer

I wouldn't say that. I don't use Boss myself, I don't really like 'em. Bot a whole lot of guys, even pros, get great results with Boss pedals. But yeah, I think their drives sound a bit to raspy and "pedally". The BD-2 is quite decent though!

  • Andy, I happen to LOVE your favorite setting here. The PERFECT use of this pedal, in my opinion.

  • WHY IS THIS PEDAL SO ANNOYING TO TURN OFF! sometimes it works soemtimes it doesnt.. i dont wanna have to stamp hard to turn it off everytime. Im gonna have to sell mine! anyone want it for $115

  • I'd sure like a piece of your custard pie Andy.

  • what are differences between this and 808?
