  • how can i do a black anneal with my fibermark 20w, ive been trying but i cant, i just came back from las vegas and they showed me a piece of metal using this technique but i cant do it.

  • Wow, that was painfully slow. I like what this machine is about, but..... for such a small piece and narrow sweep it's a waste of machine time.

A galvo system would have done that in under a minute and is still the quickest way to mark.

Also... FYI, stainless likes the focus to be lower than the part and at a higher frequency to give you a nice black mark.

This would be a decent system for a multitude of parts in a nest or very large area marking.

  • really... khm... need to try that... once i tryed some metal, but i did it fast and low power... reporting here soon :D

  • I actually laser engraved a hammer...all steel. The laser does mark uncoated metal. Try it! It doesn't engrave it deeply like

wood, but does mark it. 100% power - slow

    speed.

  • I donne that also... I engraved my old mp3 player that has brass on it... I was talking about metal without brass :D Something like this: U take your wrench, without any brass or paint on it, and engrave it with helix... What will u get? Nothing... I was talking about that :)

  • I work with a 35w and 75w helix. We engrave

metal all the time. They make black brass

steel and all colors of aluminum that are

laserable. I have gotten good results on

    steel as well.

  • fiber mark...as i know...can only MARK metal and other materials...i'm affraid he can't cut or engrave anything... i work with Helix 45w... and he cant' mark or engrave any metal... but can easly cut acrylic and wood... also it can engrave both

  • im thinking of getting an epilog...but should i get a fiber mark? im realy not sure, what can the fiber mark do that the notmal ones cannot...and vice versa?

    thanks
